Solheim Cup Winners: Team Europe wins over Team USA, retains title & extends his race to 7th titles.




United State team dominates on the Women's Golf biannual tournament, The Solheim Cup, women's golfers represents from Europe and USA teams competed.

USA team has won the most Solheim Cup titles with 10th-time winners, while Europe team has just become the 7-time champions since the Solheim Cup inauguration in 1990 when the USA defeated Europe as the first winner of the tournament.


 Catriona Matthew's side made it back-to-back Solheim Cup victories and claimed just their second away success in the tournament's history by winning 15-13; Matilda Castren earned the point to retain the trophy before Emily Pedersen sealed the outright title defence.

What Is the Solheim Cup?


  The Solheim Cup is named in honour of Karsten Solheim, the founder of Karsten Manufacturing Corporation, which makes PING golf equipment..

 Solheim was one of the prime movers in establishing a Ryder Cup-style showcase for women golfers.

 The Solheim Cup is a biennial tournament contested by teams of 12 players representing Europe and the United States. The inaugural Solheim Cup was staged in 1990 and the golf club manufacturer Karsten Solheim was instrumental in its introduction and why it is called The Solheim Cup.


Women's Solheim Cup biannual golf Team event is the same as Men's Golf Team event Ryder Cup, which is played Team USA vs Team Europe.  


 The Solheim Cup current holders are the Team Europe who won at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, in 2021.

As the last biennially women's golf 2021 Solheim Cup was held in Ohio, United States, & Team USA has won overall 10th titles, while Team Europe has won the 7th titles.


 The LET has announced Spain will host the 2023 Solheim Cup at the world-renowned championship course at Finca Cortesin Costa del Sol, Andalucía, 18th-24th September 2023, for the first time in the tournament’s history.

 Set to host the prestigious international women’s professional golf team event for the first time in the tournament’s history,


 The upcoming 2021 Solheim Cup will be staged in Toledo, Ohio, 4th-6th September, with Team USA aiming to reclaim the trophy from Team Europe, who captured the 2019 edition with a spectacular putt on the last green in the final match of the singles.

 2021 Solheim Cup Teams.

The teams at the 2021 Solheim Cup will be consists of 12 players per side. For Team USA, 10 golfers will earn automatic selection via the LPGA Tour's Solheim Cup points list. Two other will be named to the team by the USA captain. For Team Europe, eight golfers will earn automatic selection, four through the Ladies European Tour's points list and four through the world rankings.


Solheim Cup Format.


The Solheim Cup format is identical to that of the Ryder Cup: There are three days of play and 28 points at stake. Here is the daily breakdown:

Day 1: Four foursomes matches and four fourball matches (four players per side sit out each session)

Day 2: Four foursomes matches and four fourball matches (four players per side sit out each session)

Day 3: 12 singles matches (all team members play)
