 Azores Airlines Rallye to Rally Hungry from 21 March to 3 November, ERC 2019 Calendar will feature the Eight rounds with the four equal round of Gravel & Asphalt events.


Rally Islas Canarias bosses have welcomed the event’s inclusion on the provisional FIA European Rally Championship calendar for 2019, describing it as a “proud” moment.


FIA World Motor Sports Council ratification when it meets in St Petersburg, Russia on 5 December, Rally Islas Canarias will take place from 2-4 May as the second event of the upcoming season.

Five facts: Rally Islas Canarias


1: Subject to FIA World Motor Sports Council approval, Rally Islas Canarias will host round two of the 2019 FIA European Rally Championship.

2: The event marks the first of four asphalt rallies on the provisional ERC calendar for 2019.

3: Alexey Lukyanuk’s 2018 victory was his third in succession on Rally Islas Canarias.

4: Rally Islas Canarias joined the ERC for the first time in 1982 and has counted for Europe’s premier rally championship 25 times

5: The rally boasts a number of prominent former winners including Didier Auriol, Piero Liatti and Carlos Sainz, who claimed five consecutive triumphs in the 1980s.








FIA World Motor Sports Council approval on 5 December, the 2019 FIA European Rally Championship will feature eight events from March to November.

Starting with the Azores Airlines Rallye (pictured) and concluding with the all-new Rally Hungary, the calendar features an equal split of asphalt and gravel events. And here’s a reminder of the provisional schedule for 2019*:

Round 2: Rally Islas Canarias, 2-4 May (ERC Junior), asphalt


Round 3: Rally Liepāja (Latvia), 24-26 May (ERC Junior), gravel


Round 4: Rally Poland, 28-30 June (ERC Junior), gravel


Round 5: Rally di Roma Capitale (Italy), 19-21 July (ERC Junior), asphalt


Round 6: Barum Czech Rally Zlín, 16-18 August (ERC Junior), asphalt


Round 7: Cyprus Rally, 27-29 September, gravel


Round 8: Rally Hungary (Hungary), 1-3 November, asphalt
