Historic Changes for 2026-27
This year’s event introduces several firsts. The final will be held on a Sunday for the first time in the tournament’s history, while the move to the Great Hall creates a bigger and more atmospheric setting for fans.
Tickets will also be allocated through a new Wimbledon-style ballot system. PDCTV annual members receive priority access from 1–7 September 2026, with the general public ballot opening from 8–14 September.
Luke Littler Aims for Three in a Row. Reigning champion Luke Littler will head into the tournament as the clear favourite. The 19-year-old successfully defended his title in January 2026 and has already claimed multiple major trophies this year.
He will now attempt to become the first player in the modern era to win three consecutive World Championships.
Alexandra Palace has hosted the PDC World Darts Championship since 2007. The combination of a larger venue, a Sunday final and a record number of tickets available makes the 2026/27 edition one of the most significant in the event’s history.
