Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid 2026: Everything You Need to Know

The Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid is one of Spain’s biggest and most exciting running events. It combines a scenic yet challenging urban course through Madrid’s historic streets with a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere complete with live music and cheering crowds.




When is Madrid Marathon 2026?

The Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid 2026 (Madrid Marathon) takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026. 

Start Times:  10K: 8:00 AM  

Half Marathon & Marathon: 8:45 AM


Bib pickup will be available at the Runner’s Expo at IFEMA on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM both days).


Where is Madrid Marathon 2026?

The race is held in Madrid, Spain.  Start: Paseo de la Castellana (near Gregorio Marañón)  

Finish: Paseo de Recoletos


The course runs through central Madrid, passing many of the city’s historic landmarks.


How to Watch Madrid Marathon 2026?

The event will be broadcast live globally on over 300 channels. 

Live Stream: Watch via Watch Athletics or the official Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid Event App, which also provides live runner tracking.  

Spectators: Best viewing spots include Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and the finish line area at Paseo de Recoletos.


Route, Map Madrid Marathon 2026?

The marathon starts on Paseo de la Castellana and finishes at Paseo de Recoletos. Madrid Marathon 2026 Road Closure

Major roads in central Madrid will be closed starting as early as 7:00 AM on Sunday, April 26, 2026.  Affected areas include:  Paseo de la Castellana  

Gran Vía  

Streets around the Royal Palace


Roads will reopen gradually after the marathon’s 6-hour cut-off time.


Madrid Marathon 2026 Prize Money

The elite prize pool for the full marathon is approximately €21,850. 

1st Place (Male and Female): €7,000 each

Additional time bonuses are available for breaking course records or achieving fast times (e.g., sub-2:08:18 for men).
