South Region: No. 3 Illinois 71, No. 9 Iowa 59

The first team from the original 68-team 2026 Men's NCAA Tournament bracket to secure its ticket to the Final Four came from the South Region, where No. 3 seed Illinois defeated 71-59 Big Ten foe No. 9 seed Iowa for the program's first trip to the Final Four since 2005.
No. 1 Arizona then won the West over Purdue 79-64 to advance to its first Final Four in 25 years.
Next up, No. 1 seed Michigan throttled Rick Barnes and No. 6 seed Tennessee 95-62 to become the third Final Four team to secure a berth to Indianapolis. UConn became the last team to go dancing in dramatic fashion, with Braylon Mullins hitting a miraculous game-winning 3-pointer from the logo to put the Huskies over Duke 73-72.
