The 2026 Southern Conference (SoCon) Women's Basketball Championship concluded on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with No. 6 seed Samford pulling off a major upset by defeating top-seeded Chattanooga 72–67. With this victory, Samford secured the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. 

The tournament took place from March 5–8 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

When is the 2025 Women's Southern Conference Basketball Tournament?

The tournament begins Thursday, March 5, with the quarterfinal games. Two semifinal matchups follow on Friday, March 6, and the championship game is set for Sunday, March 8, at noon. 

The SoCon Women's Tournament title game is on Monday, March 8 and will be televised on ESPN.

Where to watch Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament Live

The women’s title game will air live on ESPNU, while the remaining six games will stream on ESPN+. The two semifinal games will also be appearing on select Nexstar affiliates across the Southeast.
