Grey Cup Champions List: Canadian Football league winners results | History Since 1909.
The Grey Cup is the championship game of the Canadian Football League (CFL) & also the trophy awarded to the winning team of Canadian football.
It is organized between the winners of the East and West CFL's Divisional playoffs.
The trophy was commissioned in 1909 by Earl Grey, then Canada's governor general, who originally hoped to donate it for the country's senior amateur hockey championship.
The Toronto Argonauts have the most Grey Cup wins 17th times since its introduction in 1909, while the Edmonton Eskimos have the most Grey Cup wins 11th times since the creation of the professional CFL in 1958.
The longest Grey Cup drought in the Canadian Football League is over in the most recent 107th edition of CFL Grey Cup and a longtime Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan can finally put on pants.
In front of a crowd of 35,439 fans at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, the Bombers defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-12 to capture their 11th Grey Cup 2019 in team history but first title since 1990.
Winnipeg native Andrew Harris became the first player in CFL history to win both the Grey Cup's Most Outstanding Player as well as the Most Outstanding Canadian awards.
The 108th edition of the CFL Grey Cup will be played to decide the CFL championship for the 2020 season. The game will be televised in Canada nationally on TSN & RDS.
2020 NFL Grey Cup will be scheduled at at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, Alberta on Sunday, November 25, 2018. It will be the fourth time that Regina has hosted the Grey Cup,
NOTE:::::>>>On August 17, 2020, the CFL announced that the 2020 season had been cancelled, citing the league's inability to obtain appropriate loans and subsidies from the federal government in order to cover operating costs and compensate for playing behind closed doors without paid ticketholders.
Previously:
Calgary is the CFL title winner 2018 in its third straight appearance; the Stampeders lost 39-33 in overtime to Ottawa in 2016 before dropping a 27-24 decision last year to the Toronto Argonauts. It's the franchise's eighth time Grey Cup champions and its first since 2014.
