Australia diving, hockey teams announced for Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Australia revealed the men's, women's diving team for Tokyo 2021 Olympics.



The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has named seven divers to the Australian Olympic Team for Tokyo in Sydney.


 Melissa Wu becomes just the third Australia diver to represent Australia at four Olympics, with Olympic bronze medallist Anabelle Smith named to her third Games, Rio Olympian Esther Qin making her second Olympic team, and Nikita Hains in women's Diving team.


 Shixin Li makes history as the oldest Australian diver to make their Olympic debut, with the 33-year-old Li joining 19-year-old Sam Fricker and 20-year-old Cassiel Rousseau for an all debutant men’s Aussie Diving team..


 The seven divers selected won their nomination, beating out their competition at the Diving Australia trials in Sydney to secure their ticket to Tokyo.


 The Diving competition will run from 25 July to 7 August at the Olympic Aquatic Centre.





Australian Olympics hockey has named 16-man Hockeyroos and Kookaburras (Men's & Women's) teams confirmed for 2021 Tokyo. 


The Australian Olympic Committee has named the 16-person Hockeyroos and Kookaburras teams to take on the world at the Tokyo Olympics, following the official announcement in Perth today.



 Kookaburras co-captain Eddie Ockenden joins hockey greats like Rechelle Hawkes, Jamie Dwyer and Mark Knowles in making his fourth Olympics, with the men’s team featuring six Olympians named for their second Games and nine Olympic debutants. 

Emily Chalker will compete at her third Games, with the Hockeyroos boasting seven two-time Olympians and eight debutants, including 19-year-old Amy Lawton, who will become the fourth youngest Hockeyroo to compete at an Olympics.

 The Kookaburras will launch the Tokyo 2020 competition against hosts Japan on 24 July, with the Hockeyroos’ campaign starting on 25 July against Spain.
