Osaka climbs to 2nd in Ranking after Fourth Slam title

Naomi Osaka Topes to 2nd in Womens Ranking after 2021 Australian Open title.




Naomi Osaka jumped one position to the second in the WTA rankings on Monday following her accomplishment at the Australian Open as she won her fourth Grand Slam title.


The Japanese star beat Jennifer Brady of the U.S. in straight sets in the final to raise the trophy in Melbourne for the second time in three years.


Osaka, 23, trades with Simona Halep, a Romanian who dropped to third after losing to Serena Williams in the quarter-finals.


Williams moves four places to seventh, despite falling short of the record 24th Major again.

The American was beaten by Osaka in the semi-finals.


Brady, 25, 2020 U.S. Open Semifinalist, finished 13th in her career at the back of her best Grand Slam..


Ashleigh Barty remains the world No 1, despite of losing in the last eight to Karolina Muchova, who gained five spots in rising to 22nd.





Barty remains Top, No.1, WTA Women's Tennis Ranking 2021.
