Australian Open 2020: Coco Gauff shocks Naomi Osaka, Qiang Wang defeats Serena Williams to reach last 16.






Coco Gauff stunned defending champion Naomi Osaka at the Australian Open to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the second time in her career.


 Gauff, 15-year-old who won just three games against Osaka when they met at the US Open last summer, was rock solid and took advantage of an error-strewn display from her opponent to win 6-3 6-4.


Serena Wiliams' hunt for a 24th grand slam remains a work in progress after the US star was stunned by China's Qiang Wang at the Australian Open in Melbourne on Friday.

 The 28-year-old from the Chinese port city of Tianjin was the No. 27 seed heading in to the tournament, but edged past Williams 6-4 6-7 7-5 and will now play Tunisian national Ons Jabeur in the fourth round.

"Oh my gosh I don't even know," Gauff said. "From the crowd I guess I honestly... what is my life. Like, oh my gosh.

"Two years ago I lost first round in juniors and now I'm here. This is crazy.

"Honestly I was just telling myself one point at a time and just keep fighting because you don't know what happens on this court.

 "I made far too many errors to be a professional athlete today," Williams, who made 56 unforced errors to Wang's 20, told reporters after the match.
 "I can't play like that. I literally can't do that again, that's unprofessional and it's not cool."



What's Next for Coco Gauff & Wang in Australian Open.



Gauff will face either Shuai Zhang or Sofia Kenin in the fourth round on Sunday but she will not wait up to watch her potential rivals in action tonight.


Tunisian Ons Jabeur will faced China's Qiang Wang in the fourth round.
