Joao Felix past Sancho wins the 2019 Golden Boy award, previous winners since 2003.





 Joao Felix has been named to win the 2019 Golden Boy award - ahead of the England and Borussia Dortmund's star Jadon Sancho.
The Portuguese forward shot of a breakthrough season with Benfica with 18 goal scores, before earning a £113 million move to Atletico Madrid in the summer.

 Felix beat last year's winner Matthijs de Ligt to the award, who came in fifth.

 The Golden Boy award was created by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003 to recognize the best young player in Europe. Nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier.

Golden Boy award has included many Football Starts in its previous winners in the past by Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba and Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe.
