Murray won first title since 2017 Hip Surgery in European Final

Andy Murray beat Stan Wawrinka won the European Open 2019 final.




Andy Murray broke down in tears after winning his first singles title since 2017 hip surgery by beating Stan Wawrinka at the European Open 2019 final.

The Briton, 32, launched a stunning comeback from a set and a break down to win 3-6 6-4 6-4 in Antwerp to take his first title for over two years.

It is Murray's first title since March 2017 and the 46th of his career.

 "I think the tennis world, including me, was really sad in Australia after that press conference.

"To see you back at this level, it's amazing. We're all really happy. I'm sad I lost today but I'm really happy to see you back.

"You're an amazing champion and you deserve that. I've lost today but in general, it was a great week."

Andy Murray on his wife, Kim, who is expecting their third child:



 "I've got two young kids and a third one coming - that's three kids under four years old.
"When I've been off the tour my family has got bigger so I need to get back on the road so we don't get out of control!
"My wife has been a huge support for getting me back."
