All you need to know about Samoa 2019 Pacific Games.

   The 16th edition of Pacific games, multi-sports event will be going to stage in Apia, Samoa 2019, there are expecting nearly 3500 Athletes will be competing in 26 Sports at the Games among the 22 different Pacific participating countries from 8 July - 20 July 2019.

 The popularity of Pacific games has been growing over the years since the first edition was held in Suva in 1963, where nearly 650 athletes competed in 10 sports in the Fijian city.


Current edition 2019 Samoa will be staged in the Head state of  Apia, Samoa from 8 July to 20 July 2019.

In the most recent Port Moresby 2015 Pacific games the total of 3,700 athletes took part in 28 sports, with Papua New Guinea’s capital staging the last edition in 2015.

Hockey, karate, and softball, which were on the programme in 2015, will not feature in Samoa.

The compulsory sports include athletics, basketball, boxing, football, golf, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, and triathlon.

Rugby sevens, sailing, swimming, volleyball - both indoor and beach - weightlifting and – a canoeing discipline – are also compulsory.

These games will be completed by optional sports archery, badminton, cricket, lawn bowls, netball, rugby league nines, powerlifting, shooting, squash, and touch rugby.
